- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 shallots, finely chopped
- 2-3 red chili peppers, finely chopped (adjust to your desired level of spiciness)
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon shrimp paste (terasi/belacan) or fish sauce (optional but adds depth of flavor)
- 2 tablespoons sweet soy sauce (kecap manis)
- 2 tablespoons regular soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh cilantro or parsley for garnish

Instructions:
- In a wok or large frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
- Add the chopped shallots, minced garlic, and red chili peppers to the hot oil. Stir-fry until fragrant and the shallots become translucent.
